Are you counting 7s and 9s as bad cards? I think they're actually very good cards, possibly the best in the deck. Not the seven of spades, of course.

I'm counting any K (4), J (4), T (4), 8 (4), 6 (4), 5 (4), and any remaining spade including the 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7).

Since this seems like a classic top pair hand as discussed in PNL, wouldnt Mehta/Flynn/Miller have advocated either raising more preflop (to say 1.50) or limping? SPR here is 10ish and I think you prefer it at <= 7 (1.50 raise) or >= 20. I guess it comes down to what kind of hands does villain call for 6x bb preflop...either the larger raise only gets bigger hands to call (in which case check/folding flop is easy) or villain has loose range and you can stack off for 7x stacks with top pair.

I don't think this guy shows up with the lower one gappers much calling an UTG raise in MP1. I think his range is heavily weighted towards big spade draws, sets, and AQ/KQ. That said, if my plan were to flat call then lead a safe turn, I would consider a T, 6, or a 5 a safe turn, provided it wasn't a spade. This leaves us leading a little more than half of the time on the turn. I'm not sure if this is good or sucks, though.

What is your image here? If I (as villain) see you as a solid player who c-bets this flop near 100%, and is capable of folding AQ/KQ here, then I raise you here with ATC. I call and c/c two non-spades. I feel if you're going to fold TPTK on this board, then you should have folded preflop.

BTW, I've taken a lot from the discussion on this hand. Very nice thread, boys.

f'ing totally!

I shove here and dont and get worse hands calling all day long.

if her stats were 8/1/1 over 100 hands and i had either a read that she fastplays sets/smooth calls pf with overpairs, or a read that she doesnt fastplay big draws, i could find a fold.

I tried shoving tonight, 4 times (over 3k more hands) in similar situations to similar action and got shown a set 3 times and 2 pair once. I just feel, and have been shown (although 4 times is a nothing sample), that this action is not often a flush draw - I mean it's not like it's some min raise.

Thanks to everyone for replys.
