BTW this is my only attempt at a serious response in this thread. People play NL because fish play NL. Fish play NL because it's on TV and it's the "CADDILAC OF POKERR1!!"

If stud were super-popular and all the soft money was in big stud games, you can bet a majority name players would be learning/playing stud. This should be obvious.

The fact that you can't think of any highly talented LHE players is because you live in this insulated "NOLIMITISREALPOKER" BBV type bubble and don't know [censored] about LHE or any other games. This should also be obvious.

Is it true what they say, that those who can play texas hold em' play no limit and those who can't, play limit? Every book that I've ever read seems to hold this concept as the "truth"

awesome how little sense this makes

Can you tell us those books you mentioned?

heres a stupid thought. assume dsklansky and a few other geniuses got with some top level strategists and game theorists and some other super smart dudes and "invented" a new gambling type game. the beauty of the new game was that it was perfect in deciding, undoubtedly who was a better gambler in a short period of time.

who does better at this game? top level pooflingers or top level stackpushers?

is it really comparing apples and oranges? go to any poker site and look at where more people are playing nl or fl. why is that? to much poker coverage on tv? you know something that everyone else in the poker community doesn't? i can name a ton of great nl online player (sbrugsby, dirksen, neverwin, makeemsayuh, dags, etc...) guys that play at the highest of levels with the largest of bank rolls. Only one fl player comes to mind, although he is a god... TLK. so wtf, help me to understand if fl is just a challenging as nl why is there such a great dispersion in play between the two? by the way amarillo slim, is one of the best nl players that has ever played the game!!!!! he traveled and housed games with doyle, birds of a feather do flock together. get a clue before you speak, or you just end up looking like your avatar: evil, ugly, and dumb

The "big game" that Doyle, Chip, Jen, Barry, etc. play in is limit for almost all the games, and capped on the rest. And Holdem is only 1 of a large rotation of games.
