If USA finishes first or second they are guaranteed a spot regardless.

If USA finishes 3rd (37 pts) - Ireland must be in top 2 spots and both Iceland and Canada must earn at least 5th place or better for the USA not to qualify.

If USA finishes 4th (35 pts) - The only way USA does not qualify is if Ireland finishes ahead AND as long as Canada and Iceland are not in the bottom 2.

If USA finishes 5th (33 pts) - They have to have ireland finish worse and germany not to win.

If you finish 3rd, then:

1) IRE behind you, US is in
2) IRE 1st or 2nd, then CAN or ICE 6th or worse and US is in

If you finish 4th:

1) IRE behind you, US is in
2) IRE 3rd or better AND CAN or ICE 8th, US is in (some tie scenarios here)

If you finish 5th:

1) IRE 3rd or better US is out
2) GER 1st, US is out (note, no matter IRE place)

If you finish 6th:

1) IRE 4th or better US is out, IRE 5th is a tie
2) GER 1st, US is out, 2nd is a tie
3) POR 1st, US is out
4) MEX 1st is a tie
