Default Good hand, but check/call this river?

Against a typical decent but unspectacular TAG, do you ever check/call this river? If you're raised, do you usually fold? My guess is that most of you will say "no" to the first question and "yes" to the second. Am I right?

I wouldn't check and I wouldn't fold, I think you played this fine.

NH IMO. Nothing to be done differently here, or I have some serious misunderstanding of how to play this game.

I never fold this. If he has Jx, he is a donk. If he has a flush, he is a donk. If he is bluffing, he is a donk. If he is value-raising a worse hand, he is a donk. If he has 88, then he played the hand well.

So, I guess you are hoping that he played the hand poorly and still has a worse hand, but I think you'll still be good often enough to call.

I bet here for sure, and make a crying call. I think bet/fold is for times when we have a strong read.

However, after thinking about it for a while, I think most of the hands that will call a river bet will bet if checked to. Except maybe Ax. If he peeled the flop loose, he may bluff the river with Ks or Qs.

If he has a moderate to high river AF, I think after consideration that a river check/call has real merit.
