How to calculate winrate?
I was reading a thread about a winning player and his winrate is "2bb/100" What does this mean?

Re: How to calculate winrate?
this means that on average, after a 100 hands played, he's made 2 big blinds in profit.
for example: you're playing on a 0.25$/0.50$ table with a 50$ buy-in. After a hundred played hands, you expect to have 51$ (your buy-in + 2*BB). |

If you play limit, bb=big bets, so for 2/4 limit, 2 bb/100 would mean you average $8 profit for every 100 hands. |

Re: How to calculate winrate?
Please excuse my newbness but so for example, 2bb/100. That winrate is final? (ie: after downswing? etc)

Re: How to calculate winrate?
The best estimate of a players true winrate takes into account all play, heaters and downswings.
Note that most winrates discussed will have little relation to a player's true winrate due to sample size. Unless a winrate is over a sample of 100k+ hands its better to think of it as a description of what happened, than as an estimate of how good the player is. |

Winrate is never final, however, the more hands you play you will statistically gravitate to your actual winrate. aka the law of large numbers. 2bb/100= 2 big blinds/ 100 hands 2BB/100= 2 big bets/ 100 hands 2ptbb/100= 4 big blinds/100 hands, also 2 big bets/100 hands. pt stands for pokertracker. |
