decent tourney set up?
hear me out please.
this is a tourney amongst friends. some are good to decent poker players, some are guys who just like to play cards and get away from the wives. here is what i am thinking, so Poker is fun, for everyone. $20 buy in with a $10 re-buy or ad-on before the 5th blind raise. starting 10,000 chips, blinds start 100-200, go up every 20 minutes. the re-buy/ad-on will be another 10,000 in chips. this thing will not go longer then 3 hours, this i know. that would be perfect, then the people who just came to get away can leave and the others can play some more. using 3 chips to start out with (100, 500, 1000 (15-15-1)) will bring a 5000 chip into play when needed. i just want everybody to have a good time. does this make sense at all? thanks feedback greatly appreciated. [ QUOTE ]
hear me out please. [/ QUOTE ] As opposed to.... ? [ QUOTE ] $20 buy in with a $10 re-buy or ad-on before the 5th blind raise. [/ QUOTE ] Normally this is called "before the 5th round". Blind raise means something else entirely.... unless you actually meant what you said and your group really is about crazy fun poker. :P [ QUOTE ] starting 10,000 chips, blinds start 100-200, go up every 20 minutes. the re-buy/ad-on will be another 10,000 in chips. this thing will not go longer then 3 hours, this i know. [/ QUOTE ] You telling, or asking? Full blind structure and number of players, please... because unless you're doubling the blinds every time (T800/1600 during Round 4) and/or have a small number of players, that may not be true. It probably is, but it sounds as if you're assuming it might end in three hours, rather than knowing it will. [ QUOTE ] that would be perfect, then the people who just came to get away can leave and the others can play some more. [/ QUOTE ] ... and you're not playing a cash ring game, as opposed to a tournament, because..... ? [ QUOTE ] using 3 chips to start out with (100, 500, 1000 (15-15-1)) will bring a 5000 chip into play when needed. [/ QUOTE ] What's the point of the single 1k chip? [ QUOTE ] feedback greatly appreciated. [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]61 [/ QUOTE ] Your tie clashes with your suit |
