Re: Trips on monotone board : how to play this hands ???
Well, the difficulty I have with this hand is :
- i need to protect my hand against the nut flush draw ; - if I get action from a villain, i don't know if he has the flush, the nut flush draw or TPTK or somethinkg like that. Nobody try to see a cheap showdowns here ??? Have we to consider that if Villain has the flush, oh well, we're gonna lose our stack ? |

Bad thing of trying to get a cheap showdown is you are giving away cheap hearts. We should try to extract max value of those flush draws, or any other hand villain might have.
If he flopped a flush, we are not in terrible shape, so, we cant assume that and play this another way. I like your line, except for the flop, that is terrible. But other than that this hand is played perfectly IMO |

Re: Trips on monotone board : how to play this hands ???
you should be happy to see a mono board when you hit a set. at least i know i am. usually hands that get all their money in against you are pair or overpair+fd hands that are you are big favorite against. if they flopped the flush, you still have a pretty good redraw. you'll get a lot of action on these boards, and usually from hands you beat.

depending on who the villians r after the flop raise i will usually call the turn if they lead out and also the river.
