Title pretty much covers it, 11 to go in the 7 pm 109, I'm like somewhere between 4th-6th in chips. Raiser is chipleader and he always opens like 2.5xish regardless of position and he's obv opening more than the other players (but not like every hand, he's not being super aggro). Anyways, my usual thought here with 25 BB is to just stick it in but tonight a couple friends were watching and they both actually advocated two different lines that I didn't really consider. So I'm just looking for input, is shove here the only play or just 1 way to play it (I'm hope no one thinks that a shove here is wrong).
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t5000 (6 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter CO (t64968) Hero (t127380) SB (t66713) BB (t94030) UTG (t270460) MP (t154670) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. edit- ok this is not working for some reason but basically utg opens to 12325 and it's folded to me edit edit- i also want to mention that if this is retarded question then i'm sorry but two friends who are both good and 1 with good tourney record suggested different ways, I def. thought I should look into it, who knows I may learn that my shove here was retarded which will benefit me. |

25BB spots suck hard because of the awkwardness of the stack size. If he's opening light, I think calling and jamming over his cbet if you miss works fine. Let's see, 7 BBs in the pot, he bets like 4.5, you go allin for like 22BBs? Doesn't seem bad at all to me.

I would instashove this, and I consider this a good stack size to reraise particularly with a hand like this. I would push a lot of hands here.
Calling and raising allin if you miss is also good with AQs in position. I would sometimes modify the plan based on villain's action, the flop, and reads. |

This is a very big shove... He's UTG and hasn't been super-aggressive.
I really don't mind calling here. You're in position heads up if blinds fold and can snapcall a squeeze from SB or BB if they squeeze and UTG folds. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, your always going to get put on AK when you shove here. By calling, you can get a lot more value from Ax, QJ etc type hands on some flops, as well as being able to get cbets out of lots of whiffed hands. |

wow, to those who say shove. Seems like a massive overbet as we only get called when we are a slight dog or dominated. And why are we risking a coinflip right before the FT with the one stack that can bust us? I much prefer calling and seeing what develops on the flop as we still have plenty of room to play a little poker.
Plus give villian a little credit for opening Utg. |
