I cannot stand Akon. Surely he has the most annoying voice in the world.

That "Hate Me" song by Blue October.

Oh and like 99% of rap.

wtf is with the Nirvana and Warren Zevon hate

I mean, people seriously have that kind of revulsion to [censored] Nirvana? How old are all of you, anyway?

[/ QUOTE ]

25. I've heard this music most of my life. Some of it is good, some of it is [censored] awful. Songs like Lake of Fire and All Apologies should get the 'Not suitable for any living thing' designation Mr. Show gave to John Tesh - Kurt Cobain is not Tom Waits , Nirvana is not Eric Clapton, and now I have all these [censored] songs stuck in my head.

Heart Shaped Box, still good (maybe). Come as you Are, no. Not at all.

You're right - Cobain is way, way better that Waits

The main reason they have reached their current status is due to Cobain's death.

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly my thinking.

I saw Nirvana live in late 1991 in Australia. They were unknown at the time and were the supporting act for The Pixies if I remember correctly. I'm a musician and I was 20 at the time and in a couple of alternative bands. I remember clearly the effect that they had on me and the rest of the audience - they blew us away. It was like somebody had rewritten the rule-book. We went to rehersal the next day and just tossed away everything we had been working on and started from scratch. We'd seen the future. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Green Day, and the rest all followed, but it was Nirvana that turned the music wagon dead in its tracks and set it off in another direction.

I dont know who Warren Zevon are, but give you credit for it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I may understand someone not liking "new" U2, thats possible if you prefer the old sound.

But hating Nirvana. I mean wtf, see a doctor?

How can someone hate some someone's original music purely for "how they sound"?

The only thing in music that can possibly put me on tilt is stolen music. When some wannabe new wave artist steals some great old rhythms and then makes millions claiming its his - see Black Eyed Peas and alikes.

I cant stand gangsta rap for instance, but even that does not put me on tilt since I find it really amusing - like watching monkeys in a circus. I am not talking about people who sing it, I am talking about those who listen to that [censored] [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

But how the hell sound of Nirvana or Eagles put someone on tilt? Please see a doctor.

Gotta disagree with you there. I understand why people might feel that way, but Waits is the [censored] man. Cobain's got nothing on him in the way of music-that-depresses-you-but-you-can't-stop-listening-to-it.

That effing song by Uncle Kracker. Not even sure the name, but the chorus is something like "Follow me everything is alright..."

[/ QUOTE ]

This song was out when I was in college and every sorority ho thought it was there song. It always cracked me up when girls love songs about infidelity, just like the lips of an angel song. They suck and are basically sloot anthems.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I told a classmate that the song was about a guy sleeping with a married/engaged woman. She didn't buy it even after I showed her the lyrics.

Runaround - Blues Traveler
The sell out quality of this song (possibly even the whole Four album) just annoys me.
