Re: NL25, set linecheck
yes i would but im not sure if it's right or not. My reasoning is that any bet will cause a worse hand to fold but get raised by a better hand. also he expects you to bet because you've been consistently raising. so good play. Although it looks like you might've lost the hand to a stray 7... oh well.

Re: NL25, set linecheck
Well I didnt lose to a straight, I won the hand, he had top 2 but I don't care about the results.
Just wondering if I miss any value on the river |

Re: NL25, set linecheck
yea, I think since we're not fearing a straight, then it's push for value here and pray we see overcards

Re: NL25, set linecheck
87 already got there, but it's still a bad river card (now you lose to QT).
I think the river is somewhat close, really. I guess it's probably a push, but mainly that's because if Villain has been betting a made hand instead of a draw, it looks like he's planning to show it down, and hands like AJ and KJ are certainly possible for him. Still, it sucks that you now lose to QT (as well as Xs7s, for that matter) if Villain is the type to persistently donkbet draws. And some hands like busted flush draws won't pay you off anyway. |

Re: NL25, set linecheck
You have about 1/2 of the effective stack in... he probably doesn't have a straight... worse hands will call you... I'm betting.

Re: NL25, set linecheck
I'd shove river here everytime against an average player, imo the check by villain greatly reduces the likelihood he has a straight.

Re: NL25, set linecheck
I check behind as well. I think the small bets mean he's drawing here, because I think he wouldn't still be in the hand if he had TP very often, top two is unlikely, given 3 nines are accounted for and I think would play JJ faster and any other overpair would have likely reraised preflop.
78 got there but is unlikely given his line on the turn. KQ and QT got there in the end and a missed draw will not call anyways, but a made draw will call here often enough to nullify the value from AJ, I guess, so NH sir! |

Re: NL25, set linecheck
Played perfectly until the river, push the river for value since the hands that beat you are few. This is read dependent. Many donkeys would call that turn bet on a flush draw or AJ, or all manner of other holdings.
EDIT: Post the Villain's stats next time |

Re: NL25, set linecheck
I would maybe raise a little more on the turn. Push river.
