Default QQ UTG

4-8 Live. I've shown down a lot of nice hands but taken a few recent bad beats and lost a lot of large pairs. BB is a tight straight forward player, UTG+1 has played very few hands in the last two hours. Hero raises UTG with QsQc. UTG+1 calls 2, BB calls. (6.5 SBs) Flop comes 8s6cAs. BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, BB folds, Hero calls. (10.5 SBs) Turn is 2s. Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls. (6.25 BBs) River is 8c. Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero folds. (7.25 BBs)

Standard. I might just fold the flop.

I would fold against the flop raise. Most hands a tight player coldcalls with contain the A. I assume this player is tight, so I fold.

I had the feeling players had been starting to take shots at me since I was the only aggressive player at the table. Didn't want to fold the flop to worsen this image. I didn't feel I could fold the turn with the spade draw.

Flop call is defensive to stop people from absurdly profitable bluffs on Axx boards against us even if they do it with hands they would have otherwise just called with. If you don't feel you need to make him follow through then a fold is fine.

I fold the turn.

That would be a mistake.

If it wasn't the Ace of spades out, I'd fold to the bet on the turn. With the draw, and the fact that you know he isn't holding the nut flush, I think you can peel one more time.

I missed the spade draw on the turn. Standard now I think.

when he c/r the flop, what range of hands do you put him on? let's focus on the fact that he's a tight player who coldcalled in EP preflop.

what hands make sense?
