sluss,

your first team looks like it has 3-4 players who will get you any points at all.

[/ QUOTE ] Being a 12 team keeper there were 35 guys gone when it got to me. Most guys had two running backs and I figured it was a good spot to take Gates. Then pretty much every starting RB left in the NFL got sucked up by the time I picked again. Of course last year I mixed and matched RBs all year and won the league. I just hope one of my second WRs find a way to break out, I think I have enough sleeper candiates.

[ QUOTE ]
12 Team 9th pick TD only league 4 pt passing TDs 6 pt rush/rec TDs QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,K,D
Eh, td only this is a toss up. Depends how many goal line carries Addai and McGahee get and if they convert.

[/ QUOTE ] Did you see it is a 12 team league where I had the 9th pick? Addai's back-up is a guy who has never carried the ball in the NFL and he looked pretty good around the goaline last year where the Colts usually do take a few shots running it. If you go back about a thousand posts you'll see me and chase arguing over McGahee in this thread, I like him this year. I could be wrong but I put my money where my mouth is, he is on two of my teams. This is far and away the best team in this league.

As for the team my wife drafted, she tried. It's hard when you have to guess the way the draft is going to go and then write up a strategy for that. I would have made some different decisions if it was me drafting. But she followed my instructions to a T and all of the WR got sapped up before she picked any good ones. I'll be scowering the waiver wire and trades the whole year trying to put together a good group.

[ QUOTE ]
what do you like so much about Tatum Bell, Devery Henderson

[/ QUOTE ] It's funny when you get to the end of five leagues and look at your team. I think that Bell is a great back for the Martz system. In the only league where I will be using Bell (if he does not turn out to have a big year) I also have Jones. I like him for the depth and the chance he could become a sleeper. I also think Caddy is a big sleeper this year.

As for Henderson he is the second WR in one of the highest scoring offenses in the league. Once again I'm not looking to rely on him, but I like his upside.

I think when you have this many leagues your sleeper pick ends up on alot of your teams because most people don't have them ranked as high.

LBJ,

I think it's pretty decent. I might have taken an extra WR as opposed to an extra RB, but for 12 teams, your team looks rock solid.

Another yahoo league - I was determined to wake up in time for this draft but, alas, I didn't make it and autodrafted again. I have no idea what to make of this team...what do you guys think?

1) (1)LDT
2) (20)Steve Smith
3) (21) Marvin Harrison
4) (40) Thomas Jones
5) (41) Andre Johnson
6) (60) The Shocker
7) (61) Tony MF Romo
8) (80) Philadelphia
9) (81) Vinatieri
10) (100) Tatum Bell
11) (101) Kevin Curtis
12) (120) Delhomme
13) (121) Muhsin Muhammad
14) (140) Owen Daniels
15) (141) David Akers

I've cut akers and daniels and am trying to add deshaun foster and lendale white on waivers. Thoughts?

I make moves with the playoff weeks in mind during the middle of the year.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the kind of thing I need to devote alot more attention to. I think I draft pretty well, at least compared to the people in the 2 leagues I'm in. I'm at least top 4 in points and have a winning record in both leagues the last 3-4 years. BUUUUUUTTT. I get knocked out of the playoffs/championship game every year, but '03.

BTW the 2nd team you posted is siiiiick.

[/ QUOTE ]

Match-ups for those last few weeks can be huge. Also with the way the NFL changes so many guys are available that will be good match-ups those weeks because teams are better/worse than people expected.

The real sick part about that second team is that the guy that drafted it for me has not watched an NFL game since the 49ers last playoff win. He was just drafting off of instuctions I gave him. The whole room was cursing after every pick. I have won that league the last two years and finished second the two years before that. Everyone thought this was the year my team would suck.

LBJ,

I'm scared about you WR situation, but as long as you can ride a hot one or two you'll be fine. Besides that though I love that team and in that league it has to be one of the best.

Can someone please grade me on my draft? Scoring for this league is a bit different in that the longer the scoring play, the more points you receive for that touchdown. This puts an emphasis on the more impact players (and less of an emphasis on the Brandon Jacobs/Marion Jones). I've included the major scoring changes below, specifically TD Bonuses and Defensive Bonuses:

PaTD - Passing TD 6 points
Plus 5 points for a PaTD of 11 to 25 Yds
Plus 10 points for a PaTD of 26 to 45 Yds
Plus 15 points for a PaTD of 46+ Yds

ReTD - Receiving TD 6 points
Plus 5 points for a ReTD of 7 to 16 Yds
Plus 10 points for a ReTD of 17 to 29 Yds
Plus 15 points for a ReTD of 30 to 49 Yds
Plus 20 points for a ReTD of 50+ Yds

RuTD - Rushing TD 6 points
Plus 5 points for a RuTD of 6 to 14 Yds
Plus 10 points for a RuTD of 15 to 30 Yds
Plus 15 points for a RuTD of 31 to 49 Yds
Plus 20 points for a RuTD of 50+ Yds

Scoring for Defensive Categories
BFB - Blocked Field Goals (ID/ST/DST) 3 points
BP - Blocked Punts (ID/ST/DST) 3 points
BXP - Blocked Extra Points (ID/ST/DST) 1 point
DFR - Defensive/ST Fumble Recovered (ID/DT/DST) 3 points
DTD - Total Defensive and Special Teams TD 6 points
Int - Interceptions 3 points
PA - Points Against, Total Points Scored 0 - 0 PAs = 15 points
2 - 7 PA = 10 points
8 - 14 PA = 5 points
21+ PAs = -5 points
SACK - Sack 2 points
STY - Safety 4 points
YDS - Yards Allowed 0 - 149 YDSs = 20 points
150 - 249 YDSs = 15 points
250 - 299 YDSs = 10 points
300 - 349 YDSs = 5 points
400+ YDSs = -5 points

Roster spots are QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, D/ST, K

My First Draft with this scoring system - 4th/10 , Snake:
1. Larry Johnson (LT, Peyton, SJax went first three)
2. MJD
3. Chad Johnson
4. McNabb (Could have gotten him in the 5th but a healthy McNabb is a beast in this league; before he was injured, he had more points than LT last year)
5. Jerrius Norwood (awful pick)
6. Bears D
7. Donald Driver
8. Fred Taylor
9. New England Defense
10. Braylon Edwards
11. Devery Henderson
12. Rex Grossman
13. Randy McMichael
14. Kevin Curtis
15. Vernand Morency

I got another draft coming up tonight with the same scoring system. Just wondering what I could do to improve.

Having both Pats and Bears D is such a wasted pick.

In all of my drafts, Barber has gone 60th or so, and once at 99th, but depending on who was out there for RBs, he's probably a safe bet. Not a big fan of the Betts pick. He's been going much lower. I'd probably grab a QB there. Same with JJones.
