Would this guy have considered high, connected clubs as a "capping hand?" Something like K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q/J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] could explain his behavior?

Maybe he was trying to knock people out on the turn with KK/QQ/JJ? Worked against all but you, and could have knocked an Ax out. (Then again, maybe he had the AA and wanted to make it expensive for the club draws out there?)

AK isn't a "capping hand" for most players in that game. I really really want to fold the turn, but probably call down because that pot is beyond stupid big.

Wow, numbers are kinder to us that I would have thought...

308 games 0.005 secs 61,600 games/sec

Board: Ac Td 6h 4c
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 42.857% 00.00% 42.86% 0 132.00 { AsKh }
Hand 1: 57.143% 14.29% 42.86% 44 132.00 { AA, AKs, AKo }

At the time his speech didn't mean that I have AA or KK cause he was a complete unknown, but later on in other hands he turned out to be a quite honest and fairly straight forward player. He only raised with preemies.

He tabled AA.

One of the first sick and twisted observations I made after switching from online to live is the high % of time typical loose/passive players are honest about information given about their hand. Either some sort of leveling in their head and/or an attempt to avoid getting sucked out on for a big pot when they have a big hand.

I would still get value out of his speach and put more weight on his range towards AA/KK. It sucks that it's really hard to do anything actionable from the information given in this spot.

he will do the exact same thing and table AK more often than he will table AA, lets keep things in perspective here.

Without background, I would agree. But given that the vast majority of the player pool in that game does not jam AK pre-flop, I think an adjustment is due.

Crappy spot becaue we hit a great flop against his range with a huge pot. Only out I can see here is making a small pre-flop mistake to avoid making bigger post-flop mistakes if you think that suspect line of reasoning has any merit.

The other funny thing about Fnord and Frond is that I hear that we both play the same limit at the same room but haven't yet met. (Although I Think that Fnord is way better player than Frond is)

My double!

OH and hi, my name is Frond & I'm an AK jammaholic!
