Rake in a live 3/6 game
Pot before river = 25$
Heads up. Player 1 bets $6 Player 2 folds Is the pot size $25 for the purposes of determining rake or $31. Is uncalled money used for rake calculation? |

Re: Rake in a live 3/6 game
In most rooms (there are some dipshits out there folks!), no, uncalled bets do not count towards the total pot for calculating rake.

Re: Rake in a live 3/6 game
Most places I play at in California take the entire rake when the flop hits the felt. If there's a jackpot drop, which there is at most card rooms, then its $4 from the pot to see a flop.
Vegas was refreshingly different, but the 50c pieces were strange at first. Bottom line: whether the uncalled bet counts towards the pot or not (and it shouldn't) you should feel lucky its not one lumpy chunk taken out regardless. Onaflag.......... |

Re: Rake in a live 3/6 game
Thanks guys. And yes, I do realize how hilarious it is to imagine someone in a casino not calling a bet in a 3/6 game.

Re: Rake in a live 3/6 game
I'm playing $2-4 limit in the Fremont downtown a million years ago. All fold to me, I raise, all fold. I take my bet back.
The dealer pushes me $2.75. I questioned it. He sympathized, but assured me that's the house rule. I determined he was competent, and knew what he was talking about. And I quit the game. Whenever someone trots out the old, "It's not the money, it's the PRINCIPLE of the thing!", I always reply, "BS. It's about the money! If we were talking about five cents, would you screaming about principles?" Well, this was 25 cents, not 5 cents, but the point holds. It's the only time in my life I cried, "It's the principle!", and didn't second-guess myself about whether or not that was accurate. |
