Am I the only one who sees value in betting the flop?

I think betting the flop is not bad but I don't prefer it here.

OP states that villain is aggro so I'd rather check behind and have him fire the turn (and call obv), than betting the flop and getting check-raised.

His preflop action says he either has AK or JJ QQ TT...

[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah, wanted to comment on this; his preflop action says nothing; he's just an aggro player defending his blind vs a CO raiser, so this could be any pair or suited connector.

If his range is heavily weighted towards AK or JJ QQ TT, then that's a reason to raise!

I think his range is heavily weighted towards a bluff with an occasional ace and see little value in raising the river.

RainClouds,

On the flop what do you think his check/raise range is?

Pretty much anything that's not an ace. Not saying that he WILL c/r, but he could.

Hmm, thinking about it, that should be a good thing because KK is ahead of everything that's not an ace lol yeah maybe betting the flop is a good thing after all.

Raise to 50 and probably fold to a push.

[/ QUOTE ]

I just never really understand this kind of play.
Please explain. If raising then folding is what your line is, why not just call?
