Default Sarasota Kennel Club Decline

Labor day experience--- Worst dealer I have ever had playing poker---Timed game 7 hands in 1/2 hour. All he did was talk to players, sell chips, and didn't control the game. Hell we wouldn't have played 7 hands if the players hadn't help the play by calling or folding ,then telling the idiot dealer where the action was. I would rather not play live poker if I had to deal with this dealer everytime. The card room has gone down hill in organization and class. I feel sorry for players who have to play at SKC . So sad for a once great poker club.

Don't accept playing at a venue with a timed rake.

Totally agree with you. I play @ Naples Fort Myers Dog Track with a rack in their 1/2/NL. Great dealers very fast and good people

The ONLY reason for the FL rooms to institute a timed rake is because their dealers can't deal 18-20 hands per hour.

Unfortunately, I'd say that's exactly the case for somewhere around 65% of the dealers that have dealt at my tables over the past few years

I live in Venice, and yet SKC is not my "home" card club. I travel to Tampa instead. There's no reason to play in that game, between the time charge and the 30BB capped-buy at 1/2.

I can't tell you how much I like the VERY UNDERRATED cardroom at TAMPA GREYHOUND..............if anyone hasn't checked it out, I highly suggest that you do.

Without question my favorite cardroom in the Tampa area.

-FH-

PS- The staff alone is 2-1 over any staff in the area...........and that is in no way dogging the other venues staff...........just that the TG staff is that good.

Yup, all they need now is players! Did you see the turnout for the BIG Sunday tournament this weekend?

Website's still not updated to reflect their current schedule.

I time checked the dealers @ Naples Fort Myers Dog Track.
9 players at the table = the button when around the table 15 -18 min. Not bad. Very good dealers.

I have also had some terrible experiences @ SKC. Everything from terrible dealers, terrible rulings from incompetent floor people (who spend at least half their shifts sitting around an empty table gabbing with dealers), and terrible customer service (was told its "policy" to not cash players out with $100 bills, given $900 in Twentys and told to "take it to a bank").

Also has numerous rules that I have never even heard of anywhere (ie. will not allow a player to muck a hand when allin, "show one show all" also means show one card dealer will open the other, etc.).

I could list dozens of problems; this room is nowhere near as well run as is reputed. Lately I've been driving an hour+ to get to Hard Rock. I'll have to check out Tampa Greyhound
