Bubble with QQ
This is the 3rd time a hand like this happened to me on the bubble and I wanted to get some feedback to see if I have a leak in my game or just bad luck.
Live $200 - 97 runners - 15 left - payout for 10th place. At my table, most have +/- 10k in chips, other table has average stacks of about 25K with one person having about 55k. A little history - I have been raising 3x blinds OTB whenever folded to me and blinds folded. I have about 11k after posting in SB, BB has 13.5K. Blinds are 1,000/2,000/100 Folded to me in SB and I find QQ. I want to trap BB so I only raise to 4,000. BB pushes. I read him as putting me on a move and my QQ has him dominated so I beat him into the pot. He shows 55. Of course he spikes a 5 and I am out. This is not a bad beat bitch - rather trying to patch a leak in my bubble play. Is there a way to play this hand better? Shove initially, maybe cold call? I can't see folding after BB pushes. |

Re: Bubble with QQ
Getting ones money in with the best hand and then getting out-drawn is a huge leak - you really should stop doing that!

Re: Bubble with QQ
just open shove.
you have almost no chips compared to the blinds so there's no reason to keep it out of the pot. a 'trap' is kind of silly. i used to try and get all fancy with my big hands, but it's not smart most of the time. -eroc |
