Default Is it right to lay down this Set on the River?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

BB ($1.84)
Hero ($6.42)
MP ($2.72)
CO ($3.23)
Button ($2.30)
SB ($2.15)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $0.06, 2 folds, Button calls $0.06, SB calls $0.05, 1 fold.

Flop: ($0.20) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.14, Button calls $0.14, SB folds.

Turn: ($0.48) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $0.32, Button calls $0.32.

River: ($1.12) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $0.54, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $1.66

I think his way to call on FLop and Turn puts him on a straight or a flush draw. Otherweise if he has got an Overpair he he would have reraised to protect against draws. And he maybee would have reraised PF from the Button.
So, would you have lay down my Set against his bet on the River? or would you have played my hand another way?

I raise more preflop, pot the flop and bet/fold this river about $0.60.

You don't lay down a set on the river, you lay down a straight

I think OP knows that. We can't let him bluff or vbet a bigger straight here, so I like a bbet.

I'd bbet aswell but the fact that he had a set is out of the question anyhow. It's more like 'split or fold'?

Oh Yey your all right. I know that I've got a straight, too. I only described the situation wrong.
I only asked myself if its probable that he has got a better straight but if its is so would he bet this way?

My villains are constantly turning over 98o in this spot. The "screw it, we're splitting anyway" villain donk bet is full-pot. The "hey, I caught my crappy gutshot / nobody can improve the board / I always play 95s because it's LUCKY / please call my near-nuts" bet is half-pot.

If I had a 9, I'd overbet shove.
