Um, why can't he have AdQd, AdJd, or even QdJd?
If you know he's got either a set or AK on the turn, you know he's not folding to any bet you make, really, so checking behind not only stops you from putting money in thin, it gives you the best FE on a river diamond because it looks more like you took a free card and hit. It also makes your bluff less risky because the pot is smaller, and it makes calling a river lead on a non-d river hoping to chop less expensive. But I don't see how you narrowed his range that much by his turn call. |
