Grunch-
I think the answer is ATC. His minimum calling hand should be Tx, he has to have a ten more than 33% of the time for the push to be -EV. |

Are you kidding lol, I've seen unknowns call with AK AQ 22+ all kinds here, and this one had something better than that in all likelyhood.

He said it was an unknown, not a calling station.
By the AQ+22+ flush draw, straight draw calling range logic your push range should be something like a 7x or better for value. I don't really buy that, though. |

Doing this with 88 is probably +ev.

Re: What\'s the weakest hand I can profitably do this vs. an unknown
I'm trying to figure out how this is profitable, since as a beginner it seems intuitively a bad play to push without having a good hand. I think that this becomes a profitable play because of fold equity right?
When the other play folds you win $11.05 when they have a ten and call you lose $51.10. Are those pot sizes right? I wasn't including the all-in bet for the pot that you win, but I was including all of the money you bet for the pot if you lost. So thats about 1:5. So you need to win this pot more than around 83% of the time. Is that right? I apologize if I'm just completely off. |

Re: What\'s the weakest hand I can profitably do this vs. an unknown
The EV of this is
(100-x)%[P(51.10)-22.15] + x%(11.05), where P is our pot equity when called, and x is the percentage of times villain folds. We don't always lose when we are called unless we are drawing dead vs. villain's calling range. |

Re: What\'s the weakest hand I can profitably do this vs. an unknown
its probably easier to just not put crazy moves on unknowns than to calculate equity versus a range of players and subsequent ranges of hands and responses.
