Re: QQ in SB vs OC Galore
In my experience there is a big number of "call down any pair" donkeys in .5/1. A villain like that may have an A, but might have a 9, a 4, pocket pair, whatever. Against this type, you are ahead of his range even when he calls the river. If they've made it this far with 55, they aren't folding the river. When these guys raise, you know you are in trouble, because it generally indicates better than one pair.
Since villain has done nothing but call to this point I would assume him to be a passive player and so b/f is my preferred play. |

Re: QQ in SB vs OC Galore
you are confused. the debate here is really between b/f and c/f. you keep saying c/c is an option, and you justify it by saying he will bluff when checked to. the board is A94Kr on the turn. what is he "bluffing" when you check to him? is he smart/dumb enough to bet 98 expecting you to fold an overpair? people rarely bluff pairs at low limit, so if you check on this board, you can't possibly call. it doesn't matter how much of a mistake b/f is, if at all, check calling is the worst line by far.
also if you think T9 is folding the river you're crazy. |

Re: QQ in SB vs OC Galore
Is check/folding the turn very weak? There are two overcards on the board, pot's not huge, villain has an ace a lot of the time (with no redraw), and negative implied odds aren't great.

Re: QQ in SB vs OC Galore
I play this exactly the same way you do. Fire both the first and second bullet and c/f'ing the river when there are two overcards.

Re: QQ in SB vs OC Galore
Ohhhkaaayy, I gave it some more thought and given Vil doesn't bluff this board, this must be a c/f and I don't think its close. I still don't think PP, 9T, TJ, QJ, makes up enough of vils calling range to merit a bet and I think our fold equity is too slim to make a difference.
