25NL Small PP oop w/AA on board
What's the right play here at the turn? MP3 is 30/10/1.6, no particular reads. Is c/f'ing ever right, or is firing another shell the better play?

Re: Small PP oop w/AA on board
i would c/f flop and having bet the flop I'd c/f the turn because he's not folding.

Re: Small PP oop w/AA on board
i don't like your flop raise.
MP3 raised preflop so he could have an ace you also have a very weak pair and their are 2 clubs on the flop. any overcard beats you and the problem is you don't know wich one. If you have a solid read and your opponent is weak you might want to try a move like this once in a while but don't forget you play 33 to flop a set or see a free turncard. you are of course beaten for sure on the turn.. |

Re: Small PP oop w/AA on board
Quite standard - no set, no bet. I would check/fold the flop. As played, check/fold the turn.

Re: Small PP oop w/AA on board
Check/fold: betting on the flop has a point, but the call + the club turn is bad enough to get in the check/fold mode.

Re: Small PP oop w/AA on board
You took a shot on the flop and unfortunately Villan came along for the ride. Unless you really want to commit to this bluff (by say check raising on the turn to represent the flush) I agree with the check/fold camp.
As for the preflop call, I'm a little hesitant here. Villan only has a little over half of a max buy in. We'd need to extract over a third of his stack, on average, when we flop a set to break even. Coupled with being OOP, I'm not sure I even call here. |
