73K+ players in the afternoon for stars? holy crap, that's the most I've ever seen, looks like their VIP program is a success. Awesome! Maybe party will notice now.

They're all playing tournaments or microlimits or are bots farming play money so to sell them on ebay (haha, jk). Ring game traffic is by far bigger at party.

[/ QUOTE ] Of course it is, but it's still nice to see the gap closing. Stars is a class organization and it's great to see them do well, I just didn't think it would be so soon that they would surpass party in numbers. Not too long ago they were still very far behind. This is certainly not the case now and it looks like their vip program is a success. This is what can happen when you have a properly organized vip system in place and not the farce that party have their players go through. Hopefully this is the first step for stars to lure all the high volume players over to their site. When your average poker player sees no rakeback at party and a nice vip system in place at stars, this would look very attractive to them. I guess they are showing party what they think of their vip store. lol. |

Every time this subject comes up, I'm compelled to remind you. STARS COUNTS PLAY MONEY PLAYERS AND PARTY DOES NOT.

After a quick look at the tables I'd say party still has at least four times the players as stars. Thats way conservative I think.

I think GoldSlugger physically counted every single player on both sites on his own to determine that.

Every time this subject comes up, I'm compelled to remind you. STARS COUNTS PLAY MONEY PLAYERS AND PARTY DOES NOT. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe you say it every time but it's still FALSE. Both Party and Stars count players exactly the same way - play money and real money combined. Stars has a higher proportion of play money and therefore having a higher count in the lobby doesn't mean that they make more money than Party. But it means that there are more players there, and it does make it a problem for Party to continue their claim about being the largest poker site. |
