Default Re: Yet another river bluff vs a 2p2er - this time l double float lol

i guess i can post results now

i agree turn was bad... my only justification was that i was planning to shove almost any river that he checked or bet weakly enough for me to have some FE, but that still doesnt make it ok. FPS etc

as played though i felt river was like the best card in the entire deck for me and an easy push ... that bet looked totally transparent and i almost never see guys bet that weak and show up with a flush or boat. i was fairly certain he had JJ, KK, or AA

anyway, resluts below in white:
*** RIVER *** [4h 5h Tc Qc] [Qh]
****: bets $25
drk_sde: raises $66.50 to $91.50 and is all-in
**** said, "****"
**** said, "nh"
**** said, "sick bluff"
**** said, "etc"
****: folds
drk_sde collected $97.50 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $99.50 | Rake $2
Board [4h 5h Tc Qc Qh]

leveling right?

because when you play a hand like 68s your counting on lots of FE when you flop a draw/combo draw.
but 100bbs + reraised pot = little FE

[/ QUOTE ]

not leveling

I think its standard to 3bet a CO raise from the button with 68s

[/ QUOTE ]

this doesnt make sense

whys that?

It doesn't have to be standard for everyone (read: nits), but I think the best (read: most +EV) play with 68s on the button after CO opens is to 3bet.

I'm with ASPoker8, I 3bet or fold the majority of the time pre against said villain (altough I will call once in a while). I do also think that thats more +EV. Our FE will probably be huge both pre and on the flop. Because villain is a thinking player, and it doesn't seem that OP got a aggro history with him, and he is oop with a wide range. OP also represent a much, much better handrange with this play. Or what, have you take your game to the level were you will just call AA, KK sometimes to pre in this situation? If that's the case it's quite foolish at this level. Oh, also, if you happen to actually flop something nice you will have a hard time getting paid enough because of villains wide range.

I play the flop the same (occasionally a raise maybe). I would, however, fold the turn. You really want a better read to make a play at him at this point.

68s is a great hand to 3bet a CO open raise.

Can still flop big, easy to get awy from if we miss/face a 4bet, and provides good balance for when I 3 bet big hands.
