Default Calculating prize distribution

Don't know if this is the right forum, but I didn't know where else to put this question.

If I want to pay the top 10 people in a poker tournament, how do I calculate what percentage each should get? Thanks.

You don't. You come up with some distribution that you think will appeal to the players and use that. The only requirement is the total add up to 100% and the payouts decrease from 1st through 10th.

I'd suggest setting it up so 10th doubles the buy-in and 1st gets 25-40% of the total. If you had 100 players, 10th would then be 2%. You could then do something like 2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,17,33.

You might try asking this question in the MTT or home game forum as well.
