I obviously agree that a guy can't just say "oh man, that chick in the corner, she is mine" and then do nothing and expect nobody to talk to her.

diablo and others are spot on here, beetz would be pulling a cockblock here because it was both apparent that diablo is keen on the girl, and he was acting on it.

like bernie said, it is pretty gay of friend if he keeps saying he is interested in this girl, and then does nothing about it all night. and then if he has the audacity to be pissed if you or another friend actually do start talking to her, then f him, he is a gaylord.

it is simple and standard; lay off if your friend is clearly interested and going to/is making a concerted effort. i even go out of my way to be less charming/funny when being introduced to her just to make sure she is focused on my friend. try to play him up and make him more of a stud, as that is one of the roles of wingman.

what does suck occasionally is when the girl is not that interested in the guy interested in her, but she seems to fancy the friend of the guy. this can lead to dumb drama, if the initial guy isn't cool enough to handle this and back off and now become a wingman to the new pilot.

I have this friend who hits on every girl around him. So, sometimes I'll go after the same chick as him, but I feel that there's no other option in a situation like this. In this particular instance, badbeetz is being a deuchebag, but it's not always wrong to go after the same chick as a buddy.

Asofel had it right, basically 1 out of 20 chicks in a bar strikes the punk-rock-pigtailed tuning fork beetz vibe and I claim auto-dibs, which is fine cause no one ever wants that chick except me anyway.
