Berating people when you beat them, which a lot of 2+2ers do is very bad

[/ QUOTE ]

i agree you shouldnt just bereate people unprovoked when you get lucky or outplay them, but when people blow up at you when they lose and are obviously going on tilt i say they are fair game, apologies for repeating this conversation from the OT board, but it fairly illustrates my point. the board was:

2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Rubyflush had 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i had 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

and the money went in on the turn

rubyflush: u lucky ****
ElRazor: tyty
rubyflush: fu and ur ***** of a mother
ElRazor: only a matter of time 'gangsta' xP
ElRazor: give us yeer money!
rubyflush: fu
rubyflush: k u nt
ElRazor: lol
rubyflush: fu u c u nt
ElRazor: chased a gutshot, hit, and still lost - i love it!
rubyflush: u hit the gut shot u fkg retard
ElRazor: 5678 looooooser
rubyflush: 6789 pr ik

The short term tilt factor may be outweighed by him leaving the game altogether. Will the extra tilt you get by your chat, if any, be worth more than him leaving the game now, and maybe leaving PLO for good?

I do take your point about the passive players who you maybe have 1-2000 hands on who steadily bleed money into the game, but he was running 79/21, going to showdown 33% and winning 30%. he lost a total of 3bi's in 167 hands - those players just dont stick around long term however much you sweet talk them!

It's not just your target you should worry about. There are other people at the table.

So, the flop went check check? He has no reason to complain then. If you called a psb however...... .

i would probably choose not to see people's cards when they show as well if i could, even though it's free information.

Please elaborate on this.

However, when they start going after me, I can't help myself. When they call with bottom two on a 4-straight board I was betting with blockers and tell me how bad I play, I just can't help arguing with them. I go into way more strat than should ever be mentioned at the table and hurt my image dramatically.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds to me like your playing poker for at least partially the wrong reasons. If you want to be recognized as a great player, go play donkaments.

Also, you probably do this the most when you are tilting or starting to tilt.

But they're less likely to stick around for another hundred hands if your comments convince them that they really don't know what they're doing. Besides, if he's truly as bad as you say he is, then you don't need to put him on tilt to take his money.
