Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
[ QUOTE ]
well once you check behind turn, lots of his floated pairs are gonna turn themselves into bluffs on the river. [/ QUOTE ] Do 36/11s actually do this? I think turning a pair into a bluff is an advanced play that a lot of loose guys like this don't even consider. |

Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
[ QUOTE ]
Well for one not a lot of hands make sense for him to peel the flop with then want to fire the river like this. I would never in a million years expect him to turn his specific hand into a bluff, although I think small pairs are definite possibilites. Some donks will always try to showdown their pairs regardless if it's obvious they're beat or not, some will be aggressive and realize that they're usually behind and bluff. I think most donks fall in that first category, and I definitely had no specific read on this player, so I think I normally would fold and I think it would be the right decision regardless of results here against a relative unknown. [/ QUOTE ] This is where we disagree I would fully expect alot of 34/11s to fire this river not realising that they are bluffing. Also I would expect this more often on party than anywhere esle because the bad players seem way more aggro than other sites. |

Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
there are loads of hands that he will peel with on that flop (fd, most pairs, overcards, even undercards), once you check the turn a lot of people will think 'well you can't have anything... I bet!' sure it could be a fd trying to get some money, however I think far more often you see a T/J/mid pair that's betting for value (in their mind), or complete air that's trying to bluff you off A high

Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
i dont think he's capable of bluff raising the turn here so i fire but if i dont i usually call the river cause a jack is wEIrd for him to have same with nines full if he has a three there ya go he may bluff for reasons other people said once you check the turn.

Re: Wierd river spot on interesting board vs big river bet
this is usually a flush imo
and the turn check is pretty standard, esp with diamond i think the river call is marginal though bc your getting >2-1 and he could be doing exactly this fwiw i dont think he was bluffing in his mind... |
