Re: 3b Qs pre, facing a flop shove.
Call for several reasons, then post in Micro stakes.
Edit: actually I should mention some I guess 1) you've invested 23 dollars and have 29 behind giving you sick pot odds 2) It's draw heavy 3) There is no K or A 4) The jack can [censored] off |

Re: 3b Qs pre, facing a flop shove.
you should call. and this is probably meant to be in the micro forum. you shouldn't really be folding QQ in a 3bet pot w/o a read

Re: 3b Qs pre, facing a flop shove.
Why would you ever want to make such a big raise pre vs a solid opponent??
Don't bet the flop unless you are willing to call a raise!!! And whether he raises or calls doesn't make any difference here because he's pot committed anyway. |

There is a bet and a call in front, I 3b slightly above pot OOP, this is absolutly stadard. Say I dont intend to call a shove when he shoves into me, are you saying I shouldnt cbet at all? That means that the correct play here is either c/f or c/c which would mean exactly the same amount invested money without the added bonus of him being able to fold to my aggression. This logic baffles me, how would have played this flop? Or for that matter this hand? |

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't see the cold caller so I guess the raise is OK, but I would still raise a little less because I don't want to fould out QQ- AQ-. As for the flop, yes you shouldn't c-bet if you don't intend to call a shove. Why else would you c-bet? Do you think he's going to call with TT/AJ and then fold on the turn, but raise with all hands that beats you? You are betting because you think you have the best, will get called/raised by worse and want to get all the money in to the pot. If you don't think you have the best hand then you shouldn't 3-bet PF. I will bet here most of the time, but if you think he will only call with hands that beat you it's ok to check to induce action from worse hands or bluffs. But I'm never folding this hand. |
