Re: NL600 - 88 - Turned A Set.. Is It Good?
Thankyou for all the input guys. I hope no one got too heated, you all made great points. I shoved the turn and he called with T9cc for the straight, which held up.
I wasnt sure if I was pushing out all the hands that I beat and only getting called by the hands that beat me by pushing. I decided it was the best option because of the flush and straight draws out there and the fact that many scare cards could come on the river that would kill my action when ahead. Not the ideal result but I think it was the correct move after thinking about the hand a bit more and reading all the discussion. Thanks again. |

[ QUOTE ]
I just think this is a situation where warning bells go off when a player checks in this spot and follows up with a turn raise. If OP's described the villain as tricky or good then his range would be wider but vs a bad 13/10 I would make QQ,JJ a pretty good fave followed by 55..QJ...AA,KK..flush draw/straight draw...air. If I pushed here and got called, I'd be surprised not to see QQ,JJ,55. I'm here to discuss poker. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for outing your sn too. I'm gonna check flops vs. you from now on and then bomb air expecting you to fold everything that is worse than second set. This shall be fun. Ptero, I still don't mind the shove as to me this is a shove or fold spot because calling to boat up seems dumb if a lot of his range is the top 2 sets in your (or everyone else's) mind. |

I still think 3 betting preflop is a good idea.
