Villan is 47.2/15.8/4 over 100 hands. have seen him show down with very loose cards. i felt confidently ahead in this hand but checked for pot control. any ideas? and is this the correct way to play this hand?

Cbet Flop>>>>>CR flop>C/C.
As played, I hate river shove. You have no idea where you really stand in hand. He could have monster. And his half pot bets tell you nothing. I prefer c/c river to this. |

I don't know how you know where you are without ever betting. If you are the PF agressor, you should be continuation betting 100% of the time in a headsup pot.

That river shove is disgusting. Just check it down and show it off for cheap or CRAI if you think he's betting with a weaker hand. C/C, C/C, All-in lines always are so transparent. You basically turned TT into a bluff on the river. He's not going to call with anything worse.

Why didnt you lead the flop?
I think c/r is better than c/c with the intent to open push the river. |

I think the trouble with checking this flop is that although villain is very loose and also aggressive postflop, your 3-bet preflop is quite likely to have alerted him to the fact that you have a big hand and therefore he is more likely to checkbehind that he normally would be. If you do check, then you should check-raise to 25-30 imo, this charges overcards to see the next card, if he is so loose that he wil call the raise with them, and even if he didn't it would still be the correct play if you decide to check.
imo against this opponent: leading flop >>> check raise>>>>>>check-call |
