Default 100NL: Deep-stacked: Top 2 in a raised pot on scary board

Villain is 55/11/1.8 over around 50 hands, but I haven't seen him do anything out of line. I'm playing around 25/18/3, but have only shown down good hands.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

Hero ($277.90)
UTG ($87.30)
MP ($58.40)
CO ($100)
Button ($64.05)
SB ($225.10)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $1, 2 folds, SB raises to $3, Hero raises to $9.5, MP folds, SB calls $6.50.

Flop: ($20) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $20, Hero calls.

Turn: ($60) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $75, Hero ???

Did I mess up on the flop? Now what?

What are you thinking about? easy easy fold on turn. And preflop is really bad imo.

By the turn, I thought there was a very good chance I was up against a monster. Many flush combinations. KQ for a straight (I think that's his most likely holding). TT, even AA, JJ for sets. AT, JT possible, as were AK, AQ. If I continue on the turn, I'm pot committed, and I just didn't want to do that with top 2 on a 3 flush, 3 straight bd here.

The bigger question, I guess, is about my flop play. I thought the board was really scary at the time, but I didn't want to chase off a good but worse hand quite yet. So, my plan was to make a big raise on a non-threatening turn card. If a threatening turn card came, then my plan was to bet if checked to and then showdown "cheaply", or, if he bet, then to call it if it was for a reasonable amount based upon my 4-out boat redraw -- but the overbet by him priced me out.

In terms of pre-flop, I didn't think re-raising with AJ, particularly against this guy, was controversial, but I'm glad to discuss further.
