I couldn't believe that Wells wasn't yanked earlier. He came out for the 7th! I guess TLR was trying to conserve the bullpen given the brutal stretch they have, but I thought Wells was off the whole night and never looked very good.

Starting pitching has been the bane all season, and tonight was a reminder that maybe the improvement since the break has been an undeserved luxury.

Cards blew a good start by Piniero

sigh....just have to keep remembering how much this team really sucks

The game today is pretty much indicative of the season. Not good enough, not awful. The sad part is that management didn't make any moves to improve the team for next year.

If you're in a division race and lose 2/3 to one of the worst teams in the league, good luck playing in October.
