That Brian Brandon guy seems like a tool.

Agreed. It's sad that he's going to get more recognition from this show for being an ass than he would otherwise. The way TV poker is done it simply pays to be a douche, just look at which players end up getting TV time and sponsorships coming out of the WSOP.

* For those complaining about the commercials, I just watched a TV-Rip, it's 42:45 long w/o commercials, which is standard for a 1 hour broadcast. There may have been a lot of commercial breaks, but not more commercials than usual.

* The two KK v 72 hands were awesome.

* I didn't like the KK river bet by Harabalos.

* Maybe I'm results oriented, but I think Brunson had really a pretty easy lay down with AJ vs Hellmuth on the river.

* Very surprised when Gabe said that Vegas cash games don't consider the forward motion as binding.

Very good ep, happy it's back.

The Brandon guy is a tool. You won't see or hear anything from him again after this show.

As for T.Brunson. His hand was underrepped pretty big. He has to call there. Not much he can do getting 3 outted. He played for pot control and sometimes that doesn't work out.

T.Brunson is the consummate pro at that table. Just about all the other guys are LOL document players or just TV personality goofs.

The guy is a fish. I mean look at his sunglasses.

[/ QUOTE ]

Whether he is a fish a fish or isn't likely wasn't determined by those three hands and you can certainly make a case for the A8 being a very good call. I know he thought the priceless picture was pretty funny.

In the Kh8h hand he was looking to play hands against a weaker opponent. That didn't work out so well against the quads but Antonio gets the best of those situations more often than not.

Apparently all of the rest of the shows are non stop action. I do know this, if you want to be on the show they want you mixing up your play or be an outstanding personality. I guess Galfond played real tight and barely got in any action at all. The directors don't like that. Certain guys style work for the show, sometimes styles aren't a good fit.

My guess is if Brian had AA, that 30k shell followed by that 50k shell would have been tough to look up. But Antonio isn't the first to try and outplay someone for a little TV time.

can't believe no one mentioned this gem from esfandiari:

"I love America, if my Dad didn't move here I'd be shooting guns or riding camels"

couple discussion about plays
-evryone raises so small pf. i think the only good size raise was by haralabos to 2600. fwiw i would make my standard raise 3k
-there were a couple spots where i definately wouldve 3bet pf. seems like the games are kinda passive pf, maybe not. but i think 3betting more would be very +ev
-brian brandon or w/e is a douche
-todd is a douche and seems pretty passive
-phil laak is annoying.
-matasow is annoying, owned
-i used to not like antonio but he is the man, he always ahs good jokes/table talk on the show
-haralabos is the man but i knew this for awhile (his cardplayer podcast was really good)

Seemed like the producers were more careful this time around about hiding people's hole cards. Once someone's cards were on the screen you knew they were going to stay in the hand. I think it's very educational to see what sorts of hands people let go obviously. Also missed the percentages, I'm lazy, would prefer they calculate them for me.

Hard to decide between Todd, Antonio, Phil & Phil so I voted Brunson.

I didn't really understand the question, I don't think anyways. But, maybe I did. I answered Laak, whenever he's in a big pot he usually has the best of it.

Mike - I also missed the percentages, where did they go?

He thought about the hand for at least 10 minutes before calling (they sped up his discussion in editing)

[/ QUOTE ]

^"At least?" Right. Does "at least" now mean "not even close to, maybe a quarter of the amount I'm about to say" ?

[/ QUOTE ]

Were you there?

[/ QUOTE ]

Whether it was 10 minutes or more, it's ridiculous to take that long. If the money means that much to you, then you're in the wrong game. Otherwise, decide within a minute, in some very rare case two minutes.

I like Antonio, and that was funny, the first four times I heard him say it.

I didn't notice the missing percentages, that is strange.

I wonder if there was more to the Todd Brunson fake call thing than they showed.

It's not hilarious, it's beyond idiotic. Guy sounds like a total douche, hope he goes broke and fast.

[/ QUOTE ]

The irony in your post..

[/ QUOTE ]
One guy is calling out somebody's a-hole real-life actions on an internet forum. The other guy caused hundreds (possibly thousands) of dollars in damage to a car in real life just because he's a prick. Hardly comparable in terms of "lacking class". Seriously, to even attempt to compare the two??

The internet posting thing isn't going to hurt anyone's feelings, whereas the real life damage is going to create a lot of negative energy, probably just because the dude is lacking for "stories" to wow his friends with. Completely unjustified.
