Re: Bodog down?
[ QUOTE ]
According to DNSStuff.com, the domain info was updated on 8/27/07. If the IP changed that could cause the site to be down in some areas as the new info is passed to all the DNS servers on the 'Net. It could also explain why some people can login (DNS servers have new IP) and others can't (DNS servers have old IP). It usually takes 48-72 hours for the DNS servers to fully update. You you may have to refresh your router depending on if it caches DNS info. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting. Thanks for the info. As I said yesterday, I was unable to get on via my regular hi-speed internet but I could still get on with my Verizon-Access internet-card thingee. That was yesterday though. Today I can't get on with either of my connections. Weird. |

Just called them again. Apparently due to the DNS issues, if you can't get into the software you'll have to re-download the new Bodog Poker from [/ QUOTE ] this looks like it might potentially not be legit. Can anyone with more than 3 posts confirm or deny? This one strikes me as potentially suspicious. |

Re: Bodog down?
Inside info -
Many of their domains were turned over to a 3rd party. This was the result of a patent infringement lawsuit against Bodog that their legal advisors state has no merit. Bodog was not present at the proceedings so the 3rd party got a default judgement. Bodog is in the process of getting everything operational under a new domain - just incase this whole thing lasts longer than they expect. I don't have the new domain, but I'll post when it's available. |

Re: Bodog down?
Additionally, I don't have any info on the whole newbodog.com domain. I'm not saying that it is or isn't a phishing site....I just have no information.

[/ QUOTE ] I was suspicious too, so I called Bodog at the number on the error pop up when I try to log in to Bodog. The lady their told me to go to newbodog.com too. When I went there it does look legit. I am still not going to download as I don't need to play there yet, and there info page says they will likely be back at their old address soon. |

Re: Bodog down?
So that www.newbodog.com is a phishing attempt right?
Either way I'm not bothering with it, just wondered. |

Re: Bodog down?
don't know if it is or isn't, I keep getting glitches when trying to click through it, pages work then don't. I'm loathe to download without a reputable confirmation that's it's all good.

Re: Bodog down?
They probably just messed up in the rush to switch sites, but I think ill take the night off anyway... Also, I notice it isnt https like bodog.com, it is just http. So I guess that means nothing is encrypted right? |
