Default 3/5NL Live - Small boat on the river, shoved all in to me

B&M hand at a 3/5 NL game a couple nights ago.

Read on villain: He has been playing suited connectors for raises all night and bemoaning that he hasn't made a draw all night (I'm sitting on his right so we're chatting - I'm griping about not even getting any suited connectors to play). He's calling bets with draws pretty regularly.

I have about $500 and villain's stack is roughly equal.

I pick up 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button. A couple limipers, I limp, and villain makes it $15 to go in the small blind. BB and limpers call, as do I.

Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Checks to the cutoff who bets $20. I call, SB calls.

Turn comes 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB wakes up and bets $50. Cutoff folds. I figure I've just slow-played myself into a flush and decide to call for boat outs.

River comes A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Villain shoves all in for $320.

What's your play here? Am I a slow play master or did I just let A 10 runner-runner me? Maybe I was slyly outplayed by AA?

Let me preclude the inevitable: I immediately regretted slow-playing my set as soon as the spade hit the turn, and was glad of the relatively small turn bet for the redraw (as opposed to getting $125 bet to me and having to cry and fold).

You're flop play is pretty inexcusable without better reads than you provided. River should probably depend on live reads, could go either way.

100 percent agreed. If I raise I have a much better idea of where I stand (and raise out flush draws, obviously).

As stated, you should raise this flop.

I wish your post was a bit more clear, hard to tell how many people are in this hand.

That said, I think turn is a call as played...

I call this river and feel good about it. It feels like SB has a flush... boats dont open push here they look for value. I would think a flush would too but that said if I have played this hand super passve like you have here, this is a insta call.

Sadly, this ended up being a very weirdly-played 10 10. I called (after some thought toward A10), cried and went home.

Sure wish I'd raised that flop...
