-trot nixon taking roger clemens deep in one of the best regular season games i can remember, a pedro/clemens ('99 IIRC)

-the longest HR i've ever seen live, manny ramirez hitting a moonshot into the upper deck of skydome in toronto. probably not as impressive on tv, but i was in awe

-johnny damons grand slam in game 7 of the ALCS...the game felt like it was going boston's way, but once damon went deep it was just a matter of time

as awesome as game 7 was, Ortiz's homer in game 4 is probably top of my list, and I didn't even see it. I wasn't living in Boston at the time, but I took the red line in to watch it at a bar with some friends. After the bottom of the 8th I left because I was going to miss the red line back home and thought it was over. Then I get a text message on the T-ride back to my car that it's tied. Everyone on the T is going nuts.

I get in my car and drive home listening to the rest of the game. Somewhere right before the 24 south exit on 93 is when Ortiz hit the shot and horns just started blaring. It was so awesome. I'll never forget that.

For me that HR was just the other shoe dropping, I had long since given up hope.

1980 ALCS - George Brett upper-deck 3-run blast off Goose Gossage to come from behind in the 8th (I believe). Far and away the most beautiful home run I've ever seen.

will never forget McGwire's 62nd or Sosa's vs. the Brewers when the Cubs came from way down to win. I think Sammy hit 2 HR. Move over Big Mac, you've got company.

Some that come to mind:

This probably qualifies as top 25, but the two 1986 ALCS homeruns, the first by Bobby Grich that bounced off Dave Henderson's glove and over the fence, and then the one Henderson hit off Donnie Moore a few innings later to make it 6-5. That series also featured one of my favorite fan signs of all time. The game was covered by ABC, and at the time MLB had an ad slogan: "Pennant Fever, Catch it!" At the end of game 7, a fan held up a sign that said: "Anaheim Bus, Catch it!"

4 consecutive dingers hit by the Dodgers last year. I think the last two came off Trevor Hoffman's first two pitches, the second one tying it.

Steve Finley's walk-off grand slam vs. SF to cap a 7-run 9th and win the NL West for LA in '04.

Two homers by Piazza in the final game of '93 to keep the 103-win Giants out of the playoffs.

The Aaron Boone homer was like having AA v 76s all-in preflop. You're really excited because you're a huge favorite, and then the board comes something like 9s8s7 and realizing you're [censored]. The river Ts was just the dagger through that breaks you, but all along, you stopped believing you had a chance to win.

As a 7 year old Phillies fan watching his first season of MLB, Joe Carter's home run was pretty good preparation for the next 14 years of baseball for me

The most awesome post I've ever read.

(I've been feeling down for a few days, and this cheered me up tremendously.)
