Yeah, I definitely see that there is more money to be made being a top-notch online multitabler. But it is really not about the money for me. The feeling of being a really good live player and making a solid living at it is enough for me.

I think online is good for working on your game. I work on my short-handed and HU game online. I also experiment with playing more hands online. To make it the equivalent of my normal 5-10 and 10-20 games, though, I have to go all the way down to .05-.10.

Of course there's no money to be made at this level, but it helps me make money in my live games.

This should be sufficient to make a solid six figure salary with little work, which is all I want to do.

Me too, that is all I want.

I have been making money playing live for two years now, I spent the first 3 or 4 years that I played seriously donating money at the $1/2 & $2/5 games and then finally everything started to click. I play mostly $5/5 & $5/10 with the occassional $10/25 game when I think that the game is easily beaten.

On the other hand, I have a really hard time being profitable online. I did have some good runs at Party Poker but since they stopped taking my business and I moved to Stars I haven't been able to put together 2 months of profit. I might book a solid win one month and then I lose 20-30 buy ins the next. I get easily distracted when I'm sitting home playing, I find myself making complicated plays that dont translate really well online and generally just bleeding. I have decided that I don't have the skills to be a winning online player right now so I play online for fun, at lower limits and in MTT's. I mostly play $1/2 online and would not consider playing $5/10 or higher anytime soon. I read alot and have tried instructional videos and brainstorming with friends who are consistent winners online and I will try to strengthen up my game but I focus on live games to earn my money for now, I'll see where things go in the future but for me it's just much easier when I'm face to face with my competitors.

Another thing that I think is cool about live poker is that you may have to fold for two days straight and then suddenly you have a huge hand that determines your entire week's profits. Online this doesn't happen to such an extreme. So you have to develop the ability to be very patient but at the same time alert and ready at all times. I know this sounds boring to some people but I look at it as a kind of weird meditation and I enjoy it. Especially the part where you see someone else blow their entire week's profits in one huge hand .

listen man, fact is if you're going to make 1000$ every day at 5/10, nailing down 14bb/hour, or some 35bb/100 AFTER the rake, then you have solved the matrix, and don't need to be posting on here with silly forums. At 35bb/100, move into the casino, pimp hoes on the side, profit. the end.

OK, maybe I'm way off. On the weekdays who knows. But on weekends, playing against a bunch of fools, why shouldn't a good player be able to average one buy-in over a full 14 hour day? Doesn't seem too crazy. I admit I don't have data to back it up yet.

1000$ over 14 hours is 17ish big bets per hundred. It's still very stellar. You're just not allowing for any mistakes or variance. You don't hit every 15 outer. Your Aces will run into sets. I actually can't tell you how many bb/100 you should average over a meaningful sample size. But I know that the numbers you're quoating are above them.
