I don't like this turn bet much. I'd put out a small bet and expect value from a jack.

I don't like the turn bet either. We got lotsa showdown value with the 9 - why waste it by betting the turn? He's gonna call/shove with better (or even ahkh sometimes) and never fold better, while he never calls with worse hands. Mayyybe TT folds, but I'm not sure about that. Had you checked the turn I would have liked a bet on the river. As played I don't think you can bet/fold which is a problem. I guess a bet of 80 or so could get looked up by most Jacks (would he just call a bet of 65 or so? would he push over the top sensing weakness?).

turn bet was obv for protection, so it's not horrible as long as you know why you're betting (not for value). that said, just check the turn.

bet 80 on the river and fold to a push. its very close between betting and checking though. pokerstoving his calling range you're about 56%, but that doesn't include random 6s, and it does include kk/aa and high hearts. if he's not calling w/ aj or kj then obv dont bet.

can't see him not being more aggressive with an overpair and his play on the turn is really terrible with a draw - that's why unless he's passive to the point of being bad, or views you as maniac aggressive, i think you're ahead.


also whoever said turn bet was to protect but not for value - wtf? that doesn't make any sense. why would you need to protect your hand if you're behind?

I fold preflop. If he's passive and straightforward you're very behind his range and not getting paid off a ton when you hit big.

I don't bet the turn there. I think you get more value by calling a river bet. You do have position so I don't hate it as you will get to check behind any problem river card or just fold.

I bet ~1/3 the pot on the river and plan to fold to an allin. I think betting any more and I'm pricing myself into an ugly call if he comes over the top. A passive and straightforward player is not going allin with a worse hand here almost at all though.
