Default Pocket Pairs - Calling a raise....

Hi

With PP giving such great payoffs in NL when hitting sets I want to know how high a PP needs to be to call a raise of 3 or 4 BB.

So either when there is a raise in fornt of you of 3 BB or when you limp and are raised by someone acting behind you.

Should you still call these with 22?

Or do you need 77+ in these raised pots?

Interested in responses.

Cheers

Sets do better in multiway pots, henced you should pay attention to the action around the table, and then reconsider your call. Will these players pay you enough, henced are your implied odds justifying a call?
And remember, "There is no higher set"

Whether you have 22 or 77 matters much less (basically not at all if the stacks are deep enough) than how deep a stack relative to the blinds everyone who is involved has.

You need to make on average the times you hit a set 11.7 times your investment when calling a pre-flop raise to setmine.
