Default PS, NL 100, AI situation, Tell me how to think, 1(3)...

To avoid finding myself in this predicament.
But also, since I am there, what to do next and why...
(I am currently reading PNL, so any reasoning in REM, commitment and SPR terms would be appreciated...)

Villain in MP seems to be normal not too aggressive player, stats: 27/12/0.84

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $97.55
BB: $209.70
Hero (UTG): $100.00
MP: $149.55
CO: $100.00
BTN: $31.25

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
Hero raises to $4.00, MP calls $4.00, 2 folds, SB calls $3.50, BB folds

Flop: ($13) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $10.00, MP calls $10.00, SB calls $10.00

Turn: ($43) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP checks

River: ($43) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $30.00, MP raises to $80.00, SB folds, Hero???

Why check the turn here against two players?

Why check the turn here against two players?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking I was commited (from the way I have understood the writings in PNL, but maybe I haven't), and was looking for a check-raise.
(Yes, I know I classified Villain as not too aggressive, but just prior hands gave me reason to believe a (steal)bet from him in position would be likely and for a CR to work, preferably after other player folded to Villains bet.)
But maybe a CR would be all wrong anyway? Please advice...

good to c-bet the flop, but getting called by 2 players, just check fold from there. you might as well have 2 napkins.

You really need to value bet the turn. An aggression factor of 0.84 means calling station. You bet, he will call, you will earn money. It's nice. The river is an easy fold. When a calling station raises you in spots like this, he has top pair beat 100% of the time.

dont hate the turn check for deception, at least some of the time to rep something like TT, JJ maybe get some more value when perfect blank comes like it does. it's better against one player though and maybe a different kind of player.

I know villain has top pair beat, but what the hell could he have?
