I just got off the micro limits after a year of regular daily play. Everyone is right. Books, DVD's. Use them. There will always be maniacs who hold up the game on purpose, go all in with nothing, and never fold. If it's a bad beat or you keep drawing dead, move to another table or sit out awhile. There was this player the other night who refused to lay anything down no matter what anyone else did. If he got stuck he just held up the game. He didn't last long. You learn to adjust; fire back however you can. Moving to high stakes can be intimidating but you'll lose the donks and get to experience some decent poker. At some of the tables, with the unpredictable players, all you can do is focus on what _you_ have. If you play a hand, believe in it. Online it's really easy to get sucked into playing every hand. Also, on all of the sites I've played it's common for cards to repeat as a result of programming issues. Whatever hand someone just had will magically appear in the next flop or the more chips you have, the better your hole cards. Something to watch for. [/ QUOTE ] Thought he was giving atleast half decent advice until I read his last paragraph. Do not listen to a word he says. |

It's not hard to implement a good random number generator, many sites have gone overboard using physical sources, and many sites have been certified to pass randomness tests by third parties. On the other hand, people are very bad at identifying randomness, and will complain about fair cards. |
