You conveniently leave out his August 2005 fight with Mirko (which is exactly two years ago).

I really don't care about Fedor's ranking because in my mind until he gets beat he's the best heavyweight in the world. The only top 10 fighters that he hasn't beaten that are interesting fights are Barnett, Gonzaga, and Couture. And Couture is interesting less because of the actual fight and more for the historical significance of the event.

Fedor destroys Sylvia, Arlovski, and Werdum and isn't going to fight Aleksander. I hope he signs with the UFC soon and fights Couture and rematches Mirko. Regardless, he doesn't have much more to prove.

Fedor v Vera would be interesting as well.

And yes, fedor is the greatest of all time. But that doesnt mean i'm going to give him a free pass for 2+ years. If he hasn't fought by the new year, and randy beats Big Nog (likely the next fight), i think Randy becomes the #1 HW. Of course, all if fedor joins UFC, or beats barnett in that timespan, he'll have finally taken a legit fight and will probably stay #1.

I haven't seen Vera on many top 10 lists, but yeah I forgot about him.

I've heard that if Cro Cop beats Kongo, he fights Nog to find out who fights Randy (assuming Fedor doesn't sign and get a shot in between then).

1. Randy is [censored] awesome. To do what he has done, for all long as he has done it is truly worth noting. Lol @ Randy one dimensional. He simply dictates the style and the pace of the fight to his liking.
2. Big Nog will beat Randy.
3. Fedor would destroy Brandon Vera
4. Fedor would beat Randy.
5. Until Fedor signs, these are all fantasy matchps.

Does not compute.

Observation: Randy does about 1500000 times better in UFC than he would in pride. Reason? In UFC, he can pin you up against the cage and use clinch and dirty boxing to dominate. In Pride, it's almost impossible to 'trap' someone against the ropes. They just bounce back, and you can't keep them pinned there. In UFC, it's very easy for Randy to control his opponent against the cage wall. Just an observation.

DO,

Randy could utilize the clinch game by trapping opponents in the corners. It would be harder to implement, but it could be done.
