Re: bubble Advice from a Pro?
This article was discussed in a thread in the MTT Strategy forums. I think Paul Sexton is correct in the specific example he gives when he's extremely short. I elaborated on my thoughts in that thread.

How did the Paul-nit get so short to begin with? Prolly trying to fold into the $$ from 2 far out ! Generally, if you are playing to cash over the bubble, you are playing over your BR. An unknown nit posting strategy advice - caveat emptor! |

Re: bubble Advice from a Pro?
I posted about this on the other thread. I guess daddy got Paul a job as an FTP pro. I think a lot of these red names are amateurs who were on TV. They get paid a little by FTP to play low stakes so the donks can play a "pro", and this allows them to play poker full time.

Re: bubble Advice from a Pro?
this advice obviously applies to some stack of like 1 or 2 big blinds. But where do you draw the line?

[/ QUOTE ] Probably depends on the table, but I'd assume that if by doubling you can gain a stack big enough to have fold equity versus the opponents you're most likely to contend a pot with you should not be folding KK. Quick question for those who think it's bad advice - have you ever seen someone come back from 0.3BBs on the bubble to go deep in the tourney? Would you say it's common? I think it's extremely rare, which is why this is a good spot to minimize your losses and try to cash. If he had 2BB, I think it's a pretty easy push with KK. |
