Re: Most disappointing movie ever (high expectations, but flopped)
The Royal Tennebaums, THe wife and I went on an oscar kick and rented all the winners from that year, loved Amerrican beauty, loved a few of the others (cider house rules maybe) THought this POS was the worst thing we had ever seen.
Had high hopes for it with Bill Murray and all the big stars, but I thought it was absolute trash. |

Re: Most disappointing movie ever (high expectations, but flopped)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] how are people hating on batman? pretty influential movie imo. [/ QUOTE ] It's just me, and I'm sure if I'd seen it when I was 10 instead of 20, I would have loved it. I was just hoping it would be what Batman Begins actually was, and it was really, really not. The 1989 Batman had almost no fighting in it, srsly, just mostly Bruce Wayne being emo and Jack clowning around and throwing paint on art. Also, they had Alfred just walk Vicki Vale into the Batcave without asking, and said the Joker was the killer of Wayne's parents, which both pissed me off so much I almost had an embolism. [/ QUOTE ] I agree 100%. I thought batman was closer to Beetlejuice rather than the comic. I was expecting the Joker to say Beetlejuice 3 times. LOL However, It was not even close to my most disappointing movies....... The Phantom Menace- FTW, complete trash comes to mind. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Premonition. Could have been decent. Instead was terrible. Also, The Prestige. Wasn't terrible, but I thought it could have been much better done. [/ QUOTE ] Interesting ... I think The Prestige is easily the best, most original, movie I've seen in a couple years. [/ QUOTE ] I too though The Prestige was all kinds of awesome. [/ QUOTE ] Me 3. I thought the movie was all kinds of interesting and completely original. In fact for once I had no earthly idea how that movie was going to turn out. Plus the acting was nothing less than stellar. |

Star Ward Episode I is the obvious winner for me. I was pretty disappointed by the Simpsons Movie aswell, had such high hopes.

The Machinist i thought would be a great film but it turned out to be one of them trying to hard pretentious films that dont make much sense.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah I kinda liked it while watching it, but it really wasn't a particularly great film, and highly unoriginal now imo. Would probably have been viewed as an excellent film if made, say 10 years earlier. |

The Departed [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this. It wasn't really a bad movie I guess, but people talked it up so much that by the time I actually went and watched it I was just kinda Meh on it. It obviously didn't flop but it sucked compared to what I expected. |

Definitely the new Planet of the Apes. I was really excited to see this all summer b/c the preview looked awesome/badass,but the movie turned out to be really stupid/bad.
