I'm in a 12-person league and we're implementing a new system where we draw numbers 1-12 and then get to choose where we want to draft. I'm fairly confident in my player analysis/drafting ability, but I really have no idea what order I should pick draft spots in. Obviously I can't go wrong with pick 1 or 2, but what about after that? It seems like in my practice mocks I always get good teams drafting from the 6 and 7 picks.

Any thoughts on how you would order the value of each pick from 1 to 12?

it all depends who you rank where. obviously 1>>>everything else but for the other spots it depends who you think you can get in the 2/3/4 rounds.

personally, for me:
1
2
7 (because you can still go RB/RB (or Manning/Smith if they fall) and have legit options)

yes, i had 3rd dibs in my big $$$ league and picked the 7th selection because you're guaranteed one of LT/SJax/Gore/Addai/LJ/Alexander/Westbrook and can get a Henry/Benson/Jones/etc. on the way back.

nice. yeah i have parker as my 7th before the tiered dropoff but that's just me.

to be honest i'm really high on henry this year, and think he has a big chance to do well. (jones too for that matter)

That's a nice team. Could you have gotten Bush instead of Rudi?

I've got 7th pick in one of my major leagues coming up Sunday, and I feel I'm really stuck here. I think I'm probably in Shaun Alexander territory and not really happy about it. A problem I have is my rankings from 5-15 change pretty often, so I'd like to post them and get some feedback. I also seem to make the most mistakes in the second round if the top level backs disappear right before me (Bush is usually the last of this group to go)

1. LDT
2. SJax
3. Gore
4. Addai
5. LJ
6. Parker
7. Alexander
8. Westbrook
9. Rudi Johnson
10. Maroney
11. Bush
12. Henry
13. Willis Magahee
14. Ronnie Brown
15. Edge
16. Thomas Jones
17. Benson

Where do you start throwing in a Peyton Manning or Smith and Harrison? Obviously I'm not going to have to take Manning first round, and he's pretty a much a no brainer at 14. My problem is, Ronnie Brown and that group don't really seem high 2nd caliber, but I always feel like I mess up if I take a WR that high. For reference with start qb, 2rb, only 2wr, te, k, d with standard scoring

I may get lucky and have someone fall to me at 14, as McNabb is almost a lock to go first round, and I'm sure other dumb stuff like that will happen as well

Edited to add it's a 10 team league

I took Roy Williams and Lee Evans over Larry Fitzgerald. Am I crazy?

I'm in a 12 person league and I missed out on 80% of the draft because I was out of town. Anyways, there is a w/r position, and this is standard yahoo scoring. Making a trade for a quality qb seems very tough and am not sure what I have that is expendable. My team:

QB: Cutler or Mcnair (crappy backups)
RB: Addai/McGahee/T. Jones (crappy backups)
WR: R. Moss/Driver/Galloway (Welker/Hester)
TE: Cooley (LJ Smith)
K: Gould
DEF: San Diego

This isn't completely horrible because at least qbs are slightly devalued this year (4 pts per td). And nobody's team really has 2 good qbs. Should I stand pat or do you see a move I should strongly consider?
