Re: Most disappointing movie ever (high expectations, but flopped)
I agree with The Da Vinci Code as a nominee. Had the potential to be one of the biggest ever and ended up as a mediocre BO draw.

Re: Most disappointing movie ever (high expectations, but flopped)
[ QUOTE ]
The Departed is horribly overrated. If Scorcese would have left out the female psychologist COMPLETELY the movie would have been exactly the same. -3 points just for adding pointless romance and an extra 30 minutes of fluff. And don't get me started about the ending. [/ QUOTE ] I thought the psychologist could of made it really cool if instead of like the retarded ending of everybody doing things that dont make sense the ending is like a scene where the chick leo and Matt Damon all are together and like somehow figure out theyve both been [censored] the same chick while searching for each other and that it is actually Leo's baby. She def needed to be more involved in the conclusion then just the "ignoring Matt Damon at the funeral and listening to the tape", and as her part is you are prob right that she is semi worthless but yet full of potential. |

Premonition. Could have been decent. Instead was terrible.
Also, The Prestige. Wasn't terrible, but I thought it could have been much better done. |

Re: Most disappointing movie ever (high expectations, but flopped)
Phantom Menace is the fifth highest grossing movie of all-time. Hard to consider it a flop (no matter how disappointing you found the actual movie.)

[/ QUOTE ] You are using the word 'flop' incorrectly in this thread It flopped on my expectation meter, that's what's important Or do we need to set up a new thread for movies that financially flopped? |

AI and Minority Report. Big name directors, big name actors, and stories that are supposed to make you think, though all I could think about was what else I could be doing during the crappy endings.
