I've read PNL as well, people generally don't call those bets in these games.

And I'm plenty afraid of 33/88 or some wonky two pair the second villain smoothcalls the raise.

When I get big pockets I want to hit the flop having narrowed down the opponents' range as well as having built a bigger pot than say AQ AT-s etc. Raising bigger PF achieves both objectives. In this case, small pockets wouldn't call your big PF raise OOP.

Most people make standard PF raises to avoid being 'readable', while at the same time don't get a good read on their opponents. If you vary PF raises intelligently enough(depending on position/hand/opponents/your own image), it makes flop play easier because you know better what they've got.

you have sb crushed most likely, but I think bb is very strong here. In my experience this is not a flushdraw all that much, more often sets.

yeah if you won't get called by a good range of hands, which is usually the case in 1-2 on FTP, then you don't want to openraise big preflop.
