QQ on a paired board versus short stack
No hard info on villain, note his stack though.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) UTG ($67.70) MP ($17.90) Hero ($65.20) Button ($93.15) SB ($99.00) BB ($98.50) Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP calls $1, Hero raises to $4.5, 3 folds, MP calls $3.50. Flop: ($10.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP checks, Hero checks. Turn: ($10.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) MP bets $10.5, Hero raises to $42, MP calls $2.90 (All-In). Two questions: 1. Does anyone like the flop check? (Make him call us more lightly later, every hand we beat will fold. Same rationale as KK on a Axx board.) 2. Must we have the discipline to fold to the turn bet? Thanks! |

Re: QQ on a paired board versus short stack
Flop check is great
really, only an ace can hurt you falling on the turn and you induce money out of smaller pairs Turn is easy call (raise since he has so little) You are good >55% v Villain range (a limp-call screams lower pocket pair here) |
