Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly Question *With Pole*

if you want to be a Nit, Jelly is Grape Jelly, and Strawberry is Usually Jam [/ QUOTE ] Really? I always considered the difference to be in the consistency and sweetness of the two. Always thought jelly is kinda more like jello, and jam has chunks of fruit in it with more of a runny texture and is sweeter. |

[ QUOTE ] Jelly is there to moisten the sandwich a little. Peanut butter provides the nutritional punch. If you want to eat jelly, have toast [/ QUOTE ] As opposed to the jelly? Please. I would hardly call the peanut butter that most people are using "nutritional." [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly Question *With Pole*
What do you mean as opposed to the jelly? It's akin to saying if I eat at McDonalds, the potatoes provide the nutritional punch.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I thought everyone stopped eating PB&J at about age 6. [/ QUOTE ] Lots of people did, but I don't see why they did. PB&J is damn good eats and it's so easy to make. It's a great breakfast to get me going in the morning. And really, if you go all organic like me, it's healthier than most of the stuff adults eat for breakfast. [/ QUOTE ] I mostly agree with you, but what sort of PB you eating? Skippy/Jif/etc isn't all that healthy, and PB in general is big in calories. But yeah, I'll definitely take a slice of bread, throw some PB on there, fold, and have a great filling snack. No hate on the PB&Js. [/ QUOTE ] My sandwich would scare most people...all organic from Trader Joe's. Organic jelly, organic creamy peanut butter, and some sort of multigrain bread (I forget what it's called because they discontinued my old favorite recently). It's way tastier than it sounds, no transfats, and overall about as healthy as a PB&J can be. Yeah, it's pretty big on calories, but it's a good start to a day with a nice mix of protein, carbs, and healthyish fat. EDIT: I just checked some nutritional info online...I'm probably eating a 400-500 calorie sandwich. PB is loaded with calories (100/Tbsp). |

And, btw: Jif Creamy PB- 2 tbsp serving size 190 Cal 16 g fat (3 g satur, 0g transfat) 0 mg cholest 150mg sodium 7 g carbs (2 g fiber, 3g sugar) protein 8g Iron 4% Vit E 15% Riboflavin 2% Niacin 20% Grape Jelly 2 tbsp 100 cal 0 g fat 10 mg sodium 26 g carbs (20g sugar, 0 g fiber) Protein 0g "Not a significant source of (anything but sugar)" So, to all of the irrational processed PB haters- stfu |

A 400-500 cal sandwich doesn't come anywhere close to my definition of "big on calories" |
